LIVE CHART is an interactive mobile friendly chart that illustrates over 400 activities on RI waters. It is now ready for us for the 2025 boating season. LIVE CHART, completely FREE, is your needed tool to inform you and all boaters of all types for all activities happening daily, including sailing, power, kayak/SUP, social, and miscellaneous categories. Different colored polygons are overlaid onto the chart with the date/time/location of each event.
For example, there are over 250 weeknight sailboat races held on Narragansett Bay in 2025 all shown on LIVE CHART. The Miscellaneous category includes cruise ship visits to Newport, Swim the Bay, and local Navy range testing, while the social category includes Aquapalooza, Jazz/Folk festivals, and the Boat Show. A June update to LIVE CHART will also provide an indication of all the fireworks around RI waters with their appropriate dates and viewing ranges illustrated.
Boaters should use this tool to help with their own “float plan” to enable them to plan to avoid the congested and less safe areas of activities. The BBA website allows for feedback on LIVE CHART for new event submissions or updates to existing events. Please use the contact page to do so.
